Transform EnergySince Day One
A family-owned Canterbury business, and something rarer than it sounds: a solar company that is a registered electrical contractor first.
Our story
Founded on technicalexcellence
Energon was founded by Aru Strickland and has served the Canterbury region for over 12 years. Today Aru and his wife Holly run the business together. We began with a straightforward commitment to technical excellence in industrial and residential electrical services: the sort of work where doing it properly is not optional.
As solar matured, we did not treat it as a separate sales business bolted onto the side. We built it on the electrical foundation we already had. Today we design future-proof energy infrastructure across Canterbury: solar, battery storage, EV charging and the electrical work that ties it all together.
We are still family-owned, still local, and still the same team from the first call to the final handover.

What makes us different
Master Electriciansfirst, solar second
Most solar companies sell systems and subcontract the electrical work. We are the electrical contractor. That difference shows up in the parts of a job you never see.
Every system signed off by a Master Electrician
The wiring, switchboard work, certification and compliance are done in-house by the people accountable for them.
In-house design
Every design and install is handled by our own Canterbury-based team, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
Data-driven design
We use precision mapping to work out what your roof will actually generate, rather than quoting a standard package.
One team for the whole job
Solar, battery, EV charging and any electrical work it needs: one accountable team, one point of contact.
